Mystery solved

Olympic diving is one of my favorite sports activities to watch. In the past few days i was wondering why divers shower between each dive.

I check yahoo main page for two reasons (almost daily) to check on main news and to check out the finanical market. While i was doing that just now, the main featured news on the main page of was Why showers always shower? (corrrection: Why Divers always shower?) I was really excited to question something and find the answer on yahoo main page.

According to the featured article,100472

"Divers shower in between each dive to keep their muscles warm after getting out of the pool. The temperature of the pool water and the air are usually different (the pool is usually around 80 degrees, with the air temperature between 68 and 72 degrees). This difference can cause muscle tightness. To combat this, divers warm up in either the showers or a hot tub."
